Steam Power Station: Difference between Water Tube and Fire Tube Boilers

A water tube boiler uses the water pipes that are surrounded by the fire.
Whereas a fire tube boiler uses fire in pipes. These fire pipes are surrounded by the water.

The water tube boilers are most commonly used because of the small size of the tube, small space requirement and High pressure of water.
